you so much!!!!! My friend and myself stayed at the Allamanda for two weeks 6/01/02 - 20/01/02. It was our first visit to Barbados and the experience will never be forgotten. Barbados is a lovely, friendly and clean island, beaches where amazing for snorkelling, bodysurfing or just sunbathing, there was lots to see and do. My biggest thank you goes to the Allamanda Beach Hotel as they made our stay there extra special. The staff where so friendly and helpful, nothing was to much trouble for them, the housekeeping staff where excellent (everyting was spotless - the rooms, bar, pool etc). The Allamanda has visitors returning to the hotel year after year and I can now see why, we where made to fell so welcome from all the staff, the regulars who return yearly and even the visitors like ourselves who had never been berfore.
I would recommend it to anyone, and will certainly return there
again sometime soon. I couldn't have picked a better place to stay during my recent trip to the luscious Barbados. I was so pleasantly surprised with my room and my view. I had a large patio that I sat on every day and night, watching the tides roll in and viewing the sunrise and sunset. The room was large and had everything I needed, including a kitchenette. For the price and the location, Allamanda is the perfect place to stay while in the Barbados. I plan to be back.........soon!

apartment in a great location. The room was great, as it had wonderful air conditioning. The fridge freezer was put to good use, too, once we'd visited the local supermarket. The view of the ocean from the balcony was stunning. There were plenty of cheap minibuses available until late at night, which go to Bridgetown or the pub/restaurant-filled St. Lawrence's Gap. I'd certainly stay there again and thoroughly enjoyed the whole Barbados experience.
Wow! What a lot you get for your money. I stayed at Allamanda Beach Hotel in July of 2000 for my brother. s wedding with nine other members of my family. The rooms are clean and the kitchens are well-equipped, although the utensils did differ from apartment to apartment. The food is REALLY GOOD. My mum is Bajan so I know good seasoning, and I'm saying the food is so good. The flying fish sandwich is legendary as is the ribs, fresh fruit punch and Marlin fish. The staff was nice, particularly the barman who had us all in stitches and regularly mixed up an alcoholic treat. We stayed in a Studio, which interconnected to the apartment next door. Perfect for my one-year-old son to run between two apartments; he could sleep in one apartment and be watched from next door. The maids were all friendly, the pool was lovely, and the entire resort faces the ocean, so there. s no extra charge to look at the sea each morning. The resort has Cashpoint, Internet access, massage and beauty services and it. s only a ten-minute drive to Bridgetown for shopping. We met some good people and will definitely be back. I highly recommend this resort!
The Allamanda Beach Apartments have been family owned and managed now into the second generation. Many of the staff have worked here so long they have a personal identification with the place. Although recent years have found Allamanda on the list of various European tour companies' one-week holiday packages, most guests book independently and return the same week year after year. Housekeeping and maintenance are excellent. Efficiencies are just that--the amenities are basic though efficient--everything you need is there. Convenient to South Coast businesses. There's a Bank with an ATM right across street and a "Big B" super market five blocks away. The bus stop right out front. The Allamanda staff will help arrange car hire if you desire. Rockley Beach is an easy five minute, barefoot walk at low tide, and teva sandal walk at high tide. This hotel is an excellent value. Only a few Americans have stayed at Allamanda the past few years when we've been there. This is a shame, but Allamanda is not "Exciting and opulent" enough for those who demand stimulation and entertainment. It is best for those who like to relax, read and can entertain themselves.
I have stayed at Allamanda for 9 years & I'm completely satisfied. It is on the Caribbean side right at the waters edge. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The apartments are clean & well-kept. All of the staff including the housekeepers are very friendly. There is a small restaurant which serves really good food at a reasonable price. There is a group of people that go at the same time each year so it is great to meet with them every year. This complex is a great place for all ages especially families. This year my husband, my mother, my 10 year old grandson & myself will be going. I highly recommend this accommodation to anyone.
